Since April 2003, when I was just a young gal of 19 writing about such important topics like my job as a lingerie salesperson and Spanish exams, I have been bringing you quality content in my nikki007 account, later renamed wavingtoanimals. The time has now come for me to close shop and move on to bigger and better things. For the sake of convenience, I have set up an RSS feed so you can still follow my ramblings on the good 'ol eljay. See: http://syndicated.livejournal.com/workoutfinecom/profile. I will still use this thing to read my precious Friends page, so you're not getting rid of me this easily. Thanks everyone, and I hope you like my new Internet digs. Vero Tags: bye

So my quitting the pill is going well as far as I can tell. I'm doing FAM, which from what I can tell is working out great for my body, since I'm fairly regular. I'm so regular, in fact, that after having only quit OC 3 weeks ago, I already ovulated, and on day 14! For those of you who are like "WTF, mate?", day 14 is like the mythical day on which people who aren't really informed about female fertility always assume that women ovulate. I was expecting not to get my period for a few months, but I guess I shan't be so lucky. Anywho, it's good to know that everything down there is operating "on its own". Another step to a more natural me. I've been doing pretty good this year. I've been making an effort to take better care of myself after 5 years of university. I've been eating a bit better, walking more, I've started dancing again, I've *gasp* become a jogger and stopped wearing padded bras (haha). I'm alone at work right now because everyone is at an all-staff retreat for the day. It's eerie. I'm listening to CBC Radio 3 really loud, nice. As of next week, I'm starting compressed work weeks at work, something about which I am so excited it should probably be illegal. Essentially, I work an extra 50 minutes everyday for 9 days, and then I get every 2nd Friday off. How sweet is that? Very. I wrote my exam for the PM-04 position last week. It went really well. Hopefully the interview will be soon enough. Hopefully I don't screw up. I'm going to Toronto tomorrow for 4 days. I'm working the CanLearn booth at the Ontario Universities Fair, it's going to be a freaking gong-show. I'm preparing my pitch to attract teenagers: "Panic! at the disco visit CanLearn.ca and so should you!" "Gerard from My Chemical Romance wants YOU to get a Canada Student Loan!". I win. Tomorrow night the Erwins (well, Margie) are having me over for supper. Fancy-pants. Friday night I'm going out with Ashley, possibly going to see The Brunettes at the Horseshoe Tavern. Should be pretty rad. Then I work saturday and sunday, fly home that night, and come back to work for 8 on Monday! :/ I would just like to end this post by stating that last Saturday night, Val and I used our obviously super ninja skills to weasel our way into the Ottawa Animation Festival's big bash at Barrymores, then proceeded to watch nerds dance for 2 hours. It was some serious good times. You're all jealous. Later!

I'm really overwhelmed financially. Not so much that I'm wondering how to pay bills or whatever, but just that I need some sort of a way to keep track of everything. I think I'll be spending an intimate evening with an Excel spreadsheet tonight, lovely. A list of all that I'm paying: - cable bill - cell phone bill - half of Gas bill - half of Hydro Bill (Chris takes care of Internet + home insurance) - biweekly credit account payments for my car (automatic) - biweekly service buyback for my pension at work (automatic, although I'm thinking of buying this out with a lump sum and incorporating it into my ING credit account, just to make things easier) - biweekly RRSP contribution (automatic) - biweekly savings account contribution for grad school (automatic) - monthly parking and rent - monthly student loan payment - monthly car insurance payment - monthly pet insurance charge ... and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Add to that groceries, dog food and care, gas, outings... and I'm left with $10. Which I'm actually totally thankful for. I can at least stay afloat. So many recent graduates are in my situation, maybe minus the car, but have shit jobs that don't pay. But now I could really use that PM-04 so that I can start making some significant savings and go back to school sooner. Hopefully it pans out. Tags: finances, life, work

So I'm going to Halifax this Saturday for 4 days with my friend Kim for some professional business. We're working Monday and Tuesday, but Saturday and Sunday we're really just visiting. I've briefly been to Halifax before, but Kim's never been. There's a few obligatory things I want us to do, like: - some sort of harbour boat tour - some sort of a seafood supper (restaurant suggestions for this?) - the Marquee! - KOD donair (or maybe donair pizza and garlic fingers? YUM) - maybe a visit of the Alexander Keith's brewery? - walk or picnic in the Public Gardens But I am looking for suggestions. I'm mostly looking at Mal and Chris, but if anyone else has anything to suggest, suggest away. If it helps any, we'll be staying at the Lord Nelson hotel on Spring Garden @ South Park. Merci!
